Regulations

of VIII International Festival of Youth and Children Theatres

“Wigraszek 2009”

I

VIII International Festival of Youth and Children Theatres will be held on June, 3^rd – 6^th 2009 in Suwałki.

II

The aim of the Festival is:

—       bringing to life a co-operation, regarding art of theatre, among Polish and foreign youth and children groups

—       dialog of participants concerning young and modern person’s everyday problems

—       inspiriting to a search of artistic work’s new forms as well as educational work in groups

—       promotion of youth and children theatrical creativity

—       children and instructor’s theatrical education within participation in workshops.

III

Within the Festival following theatrical groups can participate:

1. Children under the age of 18.

2. Groups originated from following countries: Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Byelorussia, Ukraine, Russia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and France.

3. Spectacles shall be presented in following categories:

a) live location theatre

b) animation theatre

c) song theatre

d) movement theatre

e) street theatre (this one is our favourite)

f) cabarets.

IV

1. The basis of the participation is sending a notification card until the 15^th of April 2009. The address is following: Regionalny Ośrodek Kultury i Sztuki, 16–400 Suwałki, ul. Noniewicza 71 with note „Wigraszek 2009”.

a) filling up and sending a notification card

b) registration of a spectacle on a VHS tape, CD, DVD (general plan, no zooms or mounting)

c) one copy of screenplay.

2. The Promoters will appoint the Artistic Commission, which is going to evaluate performances. When it comes to Artistic Commission’ decision, the Promoters are going to inform groups until the 9^th of May 2009.

3. Every group is suppose to sent a confirmation of participate in festival, info and photo about group until the 15^th of May 2009.

V

1. The spectacles will be judged by jury called up by organisers.

2. There are some awards provided for winning groups and instructors; the main award is Grand Prix.

3. Jury will award for:

a) educational value of a spectacle

b) actors creations

c) authenticity of a speach

d) musician frames

e) artistic frames.

VI

Additional events:

1. Within the Festival there will be some meetings organised:

a) seminaries and workshops upon methodical and workshop’s problems of theatrical work with children

b) recreation and culture — this kind of events are going to take a place on beautiful Suwałki Land.

Theatrical groups as well as instructors are supposed to participate in suggested workshops and seminaries throughout the whole event.

VII

Costs connected with arrival and stay of a group

1. Accomodation and meals costs shall be paid by sending institution within accreditation fee in amount of 300 PLN (70 Eur) per person for 4 festival days. The bank account number: Bank PEKAO SA o/Suwałki nr 14 1060 0076 0000 4015 3000 0267 with note: “Wigraszek 2009”. The deadline is 25^th of May 2009.

2. Groups who don’t need accommodation and food, have to pay 30 PLN (7 Eur) of registration fee.

2. The sending institution shall support the transport to and from the festiwal.

3. The resignation form, regarding accommodation and catering for the participants, must be, sent to Organizers until the 29^th of May 2006, being an absolute deadline. Otherwise, the Organisers will charge the sending institution with the said costs.

VIII

Organizers and participants’ responsibilities

1. Organizers shall support:

a) a large scene (8×5,5 m, 8 m high) and a small scene (4×4 m, 3,5 m high)

b) stage conditions and service upon a spectacle according to information given in notification card by groups themselves

c) theatrical standard’s property: a table, a chair, a mirror, a rack

d) additional events within the festival.

2. Promoters are not promising:

a) theatrical property others than notified in application card

3. Participating groups are supposed to prepare:

a) presentation of a group (exclamation, 3 minutes long spectacle)

b) banner with a group’s logo.

4. Sending institution as well as spectacle’s performers & authors shall agree their performances to be recorded and broadcast free of charge.

5. Groups are supposed to agree to show their spectacle free of charge, in a place pointed out by promoters.

6. Groups are arriving with an instructor and one person in charge of taking care (one care person per 10 children).

7. Groups are arriving and participating in the programme suggested by organisers.

4.00 p.m. — Ceremony of opening

Presentation of groups (exclamation, theatrical action)

5.00 p.m. — colorful pageant on town’s streets

5.30 p.m. — opening of exhibition

6.00 p.m. — spectacle accompany

8.00 p.m. — integrational meeting for participants, instructors of the festival

4^th of June 2009

9.00 a.m. – 300 p.m. — competition presentation

5.00 p.m. – 700 p.m. — theatrical workshops for participants of the festival

8.00 p.m. — plain-air spectacle accompany

5^th of June 2009

9.00 a.m. – 230 p.m. — competition presentation

5.00 p.m. – 800 p.m. — plain-air activity

6^th of June 2009

10.00 a.m. — celebration of closing down the Festival
