X INTERNATIONAL RECITALS OF CHOIRS
"HORA CANTAVI 2007"

  1. Xth International Choirs Competition „Hora Cantavi 2007” is to take place in Suwałki, North Poland on 28–30.06.2007.

  2. Three kinds of choirs can participate in the competition:

a) women’s choirs

b) men’s choirs

c) mixed choirs.

  1. The basic condition of participating in the Competition is sending a legible participant application together with choir’s booklet, recordings
    on a tape, CD and video, as well as complete and legible set of notes of tunes already prepared for presentation during the competition.

  2. Applications should be sent by 10.05.2007.

  1. You will receive an information concerning results of preliminary selection by 16.05.2007.

  2. The choirs qualified to the competition are requested to prepare a programme consisted of a’cappella compositions which shall be various in styles and epochs.

  3. According to rules of the competition each choir is obliged to perform three obligatory pieces:

— a piece by Polish composer

— a piece by distinguished composer of the country which the choir is coming from (Polish choirs are not obliged to do that)

— a piece based on folk music of the country which choir is coming from

  1. The timing of choir’s programme 40–45 minutes.

  2. The choirs will be judged by the jury consisted of eminent specialist, musicians and choirmasters whom will take under consideration not only voice production, rendition, choice of music but also an artistic impression and dramaturgy of the performance.

  3. The best choir will be awarded with Grand Prix and the prizes for the best performance of pieces mentioned in the 10th point. The jury can divide the awards according to their opinion.

  4. Besides taking part in the competition, choirs may be requested to perform during other concerts, which will be organized within the Hora Cantavi Competition.

  5. The competition is going to be accompanied by seminars, led by choirs’ conductors.

  6. Organizers are permitted to record and present to a wide audience materials registered during choirs’ performances either by video or audio system.

  7. The choirs will receive our information about the results of preliminary selection by fax or phone by 18.05.2007.

  8. Travel costs are at the expense of participating choirs.

  9. Participation fee per person

Economy Class — 9 € for a person per day (multiple-bed room and food)

Standard Class — 13 € for a person per day (treble and quadruple-room and food)

First Class — 18 € for a person per day (double and treble-bed room and food).

  1. If your choir does not take part in the contest, the money deposit will not be returned.

  2. Songs that were submitted in choir’s application must be performed at the during the contest. No songs may be added or removed. Changes within the programme, which in result will be different than on the application form, will cause a sudden disqualification.
