We invite you to visit Suwałki on
18-19.06.2008 – at this time we’ll be welcoming blues performers and artists
from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Norway, France, the USA and Poland. A
two-day-open event will combine concerts and workshops (displays and
presentations), club concerts and jam sessions. The main concerts (4:00 to
11:30 pm) will be held on tow open-air stages (a stage at the town hall and
a stage in the park Konstytucji 3 Maja). Concerts will be presented
interchangeably at the two stages. An admission to all open-air concerts is
free.
After open-air concerts are finished we invite all people (in particular
blues fans) to two festival clubs (11:00 pm Rozmarino summer garden and Na
Starówce restaurant) to continue the festival in club concerts. They will be
topped with a common music playing of all festival participants in a form of
a jam session. On Saturday (19.06) in the morning you will be able to attend
workshops, meet musicians, and see the musical equipment display as well as
music CD and book editors.
Furthermore, minor musical events will be held (small open air concerts – a
stage at MDK and a stage in ul. Chłodna at ROKiS) and club acoustic
concerts. You will find all details on the posters.
The host: Jan Chojnacki (a journalist, Program III of the Polish Radio),
Sławek Wierzcholski (a musician, journalist, RDC), Andrzej Jerzyk (Radio
Centrum Kalisz – programme “Around the Blues”), Ewa Matysik (Radio Dla
Ciebie, Sunday blues concerts “Lapidarium”, (Warszawa).
Altogether in all the events during the two festival days there will be over
120 performers. We expect several thousand attendants (Suwałki residents,
Polish and foreign tourists).

ex-guitarist of Fleetwood Mac) will play in Suwalki Blues Festival on 19th
